Maaya Thilla
Maldives’ most renowned dive spot. The main reef has a depth of just seven meters, which makes it accessible for
beginners. You may encounter reef sharks, schools of anemone fishes, octopus, and big colorful corals. The lower reef
is for advanced divers and goes down to 30 meters depth. You may observe groups of sharks, barracudas, groupers,
schools of parrot fish, and various sea life. Furthermore, this is the perfect spot for a night dive.
Madivaru Corner and Rasdhoo Channel
Dive spot close to Rasdhoo island with big groups of sharks, stingrays, eagle rays, Napoleon fish, barracudas, tuna fish,
turtles, and maybe hammerhead sharks, which are very rare. You will mostly encounter reef sharks, white and black tip
sharks.
Manta Cleaning Station
Dive spot for beginners and advanced divers with a depth of twelve meters. Mantas come here to do their cleaning
routine at a round-shaped coral block. Best visibility and time for a dive is in the early morning. You may watch mantas
all around you or – if there is no current – explore the surroundings. Maybe you will encounter octopus and schools of
eagle rays.
DIVE SITES
Fish Head
This dive spot connects the northern and southern Ari Atoll. The main reef has a depth of just seven meters and is
suitable for beginners. Advanced divers may go to the lower reef at 30 meters depth. You may spot various shark
species (gray reef sharks, white and black tip sharks), bluefin trevally, dogtooth tuna, turtles, moray, and other colorful
sea life.
Gangehi Channel
Dive spot for drift and channel diving – easy and fun dive. You may observe leopard sharks, groups of reef sharks, sting
rays, and beautiful corals.
Maalhos
Colorful dive spot with special soft corals. You may encounter big overhangs, layers of soft corals, blue striped
snappers, mantas, and beautiful sea life. This dive spot has strong currents and is only recommended for advanced
divers.
Shipwreck Dives
Halaveli Wreck lies at 27 meters depth. This 40-meter-long cargo ship was sunk in 1991 to serve as an artificial reef. You
will encounter the wreck covered in corals with rich sea life, such as grouper fish, nudibranchs, lionfish or glassfish.
Fesdhoo Wreck lies at 30 meters depth and serves as an artificial reef. You may watch scorpionfish and large schools of
fish.
